| World Record Barra catches,
certified by the International
Game Fishing Association, have added credence
to Tinaroo Barra marvel by awarding the Lake’s anglers twelve out of a possible twenty-two, Barramundi World Records.
The impoundment has been stocked for a number of
decades by local groups and stocking interests are
now assisted by the Queensland Government through
their Stocked
Impoundment Permit Scheme. |

Your guide, world record holder, Ian Kucurs, holds the 8 kg (16 lb) & 6 kg (12 lb) tippet fly records. These were achieved by producing monster 20.45 kg (45 lb 1oz) & 19.96 kg (44 lb) Tinaroo Barra respectively.

| Barra Bite Best
at Sunset and Sunrise, on the full and new moons and days leading
up to either. The months of September, October & November are
our favourite, although fish are generally caught all year round.
The winter months of June & July prove more difficult with poor
weather resulting in fishing conditions not being as comfortable.
Prize fish are plentiful although time and patience enhance success. |
